My internship is going to include working alongside paleontologists, botanists, and entomologists. I'm excited to expand my knowledge about field work and skills as well as data organizing. I'm slightly nervous about my transportation to and from my work site. I have recently lost my keys and wallet and, subsequently, my driver's license. My work starts tomorrow, but a main skill that I have learned this week is patience. I spent the entirety of Tuesday at the DMV for hours only to not receive a license. I'll go again later this week, but until then I will need to find transportation to and from the Natural History Museum. So far, my boyfriend has been able to drive me most days, including weekends.

In the upcoming week, I will be starting my internship at the San Diego Natural History Museum. Overall, I'm quite excited to begin learning alongside paleontologists, botanists, and entomologists. My overall mentor who will be shuffling me around these departments will be Janet Morris, the Director of Volunteer/Intern Services. During my time at the museum, I will be doing a variety of experiences, such as creating flora presses and insect logs.
